Carnaval On The Mile is a family friendly festival attended by Coral Gables residents and their families, who are regulars at the surrounding mom-and-pop cafes and restaurants, boutiques and book stores. Most restaurants of the area have a pop up in the street as you pass by to taste their goods from high-end restaurants to authentic Cuban ice cream. It is open once a year for every one as it welcomes people from the city and visitors from all over the world.

El Croquetazo Famous Contest
El Croquetazo is the famous Croqueta Eating Contest sponsored by the Major League Eating at the Calle Ocho Carnival. This a contest designed to figure out how many croquetas can a person eat in 8 minutes. People from all over the world gather to compete in each category: professional, amateur, or celebrity. The professionals always try to show off their skills and let everyone know they are 'it' while the amateurs and celebrities are there for the fun and prizes.

The Carnaval on the Mile, brings celebrity chefs, local pubs and restaurants. It is also a hub for exquisite wine and culinary from around the globe. The festival opens for two days featuring cooking workshops, gourmet taste, book signing by international and recognized culinary personalities, and live music and entertainment.
